Spring feels like a better time to begin

I have a few things to share this week because I’ve lined up and have been hosting so many great interviews for The Stay Gold Collective and with spring approaching, I’ve been attending more in-person events in Asheville.
1. Most recently, I had the chance to talk to Allison Heutshe, who opened a beautiful store in LA last year and has a long history and incredible experience in the jewelry industry. There were so many great takeaways from our conversation, but the one that has stuck with many members, including me, is the reminder to get out of your own way. Trust your experience and follow your passion. While there is always actionable advice in these interviews, it’s often the big ideas that are most impactful.
2. Something I think about every year is that the middle of winter is the worst time to set goals, so attending a goal-setting workshop as the daffodils start to bloom felt so much better to me. Through Craft Your Commerce and a presentation by Annie Woods, I have a new perspective on setting goals, rooted in meaning and set up for success. If you didn’t set goals with the New Year, spring is the perfect time to plan for the rest of the year.
3. The final thing I’ll share in this email is that our most recent Stay Gold Collective book club read was How to Not Always Be Working by Cody Cook-Parrott. We had a conversation with the author, too, and it left me thinking about my relationship with my work, my phone, and social media. Getting clearer about your boundaries and creating structure for yourself can help you work less and with more intention.
What’s currently on your mind?
March is a big month for me. It marks 10 years of working for myself, 7 years of the Stay Gold Collective, and my kid is turning 5. I have a giveaway coming up that I’ll share soon, new merch, and I’ll be featuring Stay Gold members throughout the month.
